Sarah K. Willey concentrates her practice in the areas of business and employment law, providing professional and business advice to privately held companies regarding:

  • Mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, formations, strategic planning, venture capital financings, technology development, positioning and licensing, trade secret protection, unfair competition, contract negotiation, intellectual property infringement, trademarks and copyright;

  • Employment law compliance and training procedures relative to permissible hiring, firing and disciplinary practices, leave and accommodation rights, wage-hour compliance, investigation of complaints of harassment, discrimination and work-place violence, preparation of employment policies, employee handbooks, affirmative action plans, and employment and separation agreements, including intellectual property ownership, non-competition, non-solicitation and non-disclosure provisions, representation before MCAD, DUA/DETMA, and state court; and

  • Regulatory issues including the licensing of architecture and engineering firms, compliance issues for defense and biotechnology companies, liquor license matters, and SOMBWA/DBE certification.
