Experience
Christian G. Samito represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation matters, including business litigation, probate and fiduciary litigation, trade secrets, professional liability, employment practices, and tort defense matters. Christian is also an experienced appellate attorney at the state and federal levels.

- In the process of revising for publication a book, tentatively titled, Becoming American: African-American and Irish-American Military Service During the Civil War and the Redefinition of Citizenship.
- Changes in Law and Society during the Civil War and Reconstruction: A Legal History Documentary Reader (Southern Illinois University Press, to be published in early 2009). Focusing on the rich and important legal history of this transformative period in America, this book will be a comprehensive collection of Civil War/Reconstuction era legal history documents available to audiences for the first time.

Speaking Engagements
- Christian spoke at the Society for Civil War Historians Conference in Philadelphia on June 17, 2008. His talk was entitled "Irish Americans and the Affirmation of Naturalized Citizenship," and focused on the participation of Irish Americans in the redefinition of national citizenship in the years immediately following the Civil War.
Additional Activities
- Christian is an adjunct assistant professor at Boston College, where he teaches two courses entitled Legal History and Constitutional Change in the Civil War Era and Topics in American Legal and Constitutional History, 1789-1900.
- Christian will also teach a seminar on the Legal History of the Civil War and Reconstruction at Boston University School of Law in Spring 2009.
