Experience

John J. Ryan, Jr. joins Donovan Hatem LLP as a Litigation Partner in the Professional Practices group. Jack brings 30 years of experience in construction law and construction litigation to Donovan Hatem. In addition to representing architects, engineers, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, and construction managers, his broad client base has included large insurers, corporations, owners, and manufacturers of construction materials, components, and equipment. From this extensive litigation experience, Jack understands the complexities of small and large construction projects, including road and traffic planning projects, asbestos removal and de-leading projects, and municipal and state-run projects.

As chair of the Lincoln-Sudbury Building Committee, Jack directed the $73 million Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School construction project. Upon completion, the project received the Construction Managers Association of America, New England Chapter, Award for the 2005 Public Project of the Year in the $50 million to $100 million category. As a result of the success of the High School project, Jack was asked to chair the Building Committee for the construction of the Sudbury/Lincoln-Sudbury Community Track and Field.

Jack’s expertise in construction law and litigation, combined with his experience chairing the building committee for a Massachusetts public school and public facilities, makes him uniquely qualified to identify and resolve the specific issues and problems encountered in every phase of a construction project.
