Experience

William D. Gillis, Jr., Partner in the Professional Practices Group at Donovan Hatem, has over 25 years of civil litigation experience. He represents design professionals involved in professional liability claims and clients in environmental, commercial, and insurance coverage litigation. Bill currently manages the defense of design professionals on a national basis and handles mediations, arbitrations, and trials for architects and engineers.

Bill, formerly the Managing Partner at Massery & Gillis, began his legal career as a Captain in the U.S. Army JAG, 8th Infantry Division, Germany, where he performed trial counsel, administrative law and legal assistance duties. He prosecuted criminal trials and performed a variety of estate and family law work for service members and their dependents stationed overseas.
