Experience

James A. Cardenas is Of Counsel in our New York office at Donovan Hatem LLP. He previously worked as a Senior Associate with Hardin, Kundla, McKeon & Poletto, P.A. where he functioned primarily as a trial attorney. He worked mainly with insurance carriers issuing commercial lines CGL policies and employment practices lines policies. This included general negligence defense, professional malpractice defense, product liability defense, automobile negligence defense, construction defect claims and construction site accident injury claims. Jim also has handled numerous employment discrimination cases in State and Federal Court. He has appeared before the New Jersey Supreme Court for Oral Argument and was cited in the New York Jury Verdict Reporter in November 2004, August 2006, and March 2008 for defense verdicts. Jim has appeared before numerous administrative agencies including the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, NY State Division of Human Rights, NYC Division of Human Rights, NJ Division on Civil Rights, NJ State Department of Labor, NJ Division of Wage and Hour Compliance, NJ Office of Attorney Ethics and the New York State Office of the Professions, New York City Department of Transportation and New York City Movable Bridges Division. While in law school, Jim participated in a Federal Court Judicial Externship with U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel B. Rosen and was a Philadelphia Pro Bono Bankruptcy Clinic Volunteer.
